Karlsson Set to Defend Order of Merit Title

Titleist Brand Ambassador Robert Karlsson launched his bid to capture a second Order of Merit when he began The Race to Dubai on The 2009 European Tour International Schedule at the HSBC Champions in Shanghai. Karlsson struck the opening tee shot in the tournament which begins the European Tour season that will climax in November 2009 when the top 60 players compete in the richest tournament in golf – the Dubai World Championship.

“I felt very privileged to be the first Swedish player to win the Harry Vardon Trophy and now to be given the chance to defend it in the inaugural Race to Dubai is another important milestone in my career,” said Karlsson.

The HSBC Champions features a world-class field that includes Karlsson’s fellow Titleist Brand Ambassadors Adam Scott, Ross Fisher and Martin Kaymer among others, as well as 2008 two-time major champion Padraig Harrington, FedEx Cup winner Vijay Singh and TOUR Championship winner Camilo Villegas, all Titleist golf ball loyalists.
