From the U.S. Open – Monday

June 19th, 2010

The 2010 U.S. Open Championship gets underway this Thursday at storied Pebble Beach Golf Links on California’s Monterey Peninsula. Pebble has hosted some of the most historic contests in U.S. Open history, and the early consensus is that this is the fairest, most judicious layout that the USGA has overseen in more than twenty years. One of the best places to watch the action is on the shared tee box for #4 and #17. If you get a prime spot, you can see players take a whack at the potentially drivable Par 4 fourth (331 yards), and watch other groups challenge the well-protected 17th green straight out toward the Pacific Ocean. If you catch a rare lull there, turn your attention to the third green, where there should be some birdie putts.

Team Titleist is on-site at this year’s second major and we’ll keep you posted with daily information from inside the ropes.
